I'm trying to be able to e-mail my movies with microsoft movie maker from my windows xp home edition HP2005 computer but I can't because it is set on using microsoft e-mail accounts. I have tried to make the account on my control panel/ mail but I want to be able to e-mail it using yahoo. I'm very confused. Help!!!!

Reply:sorry mate, but yahoo's pop/smtp service is not free anymore. However if you still want to use outlook express for yahoo then you need a sofware called YPOP. Install that on your computer and configure it using the help provided with it and then you can use outlook express or any other mail client for yahoo. It works, I have checked it myself.

RETR Pop3 email retrieval problems.?
Hi
I have an email machine (2003 server) that retrieves email from an external pop3 server. It all was working fine but now something has changed that causes it to hang\time out on the RETR command when retireving the email message. Another machine on the same network works fine to retrieve. All I can imagine is that some config has changed on the server to cause the RETR command to no longer work on this specific machine. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Okay, i have a second email address (POP3) linked to my Yahoo mail and i am not recieving any emails send to that address and people are not getting the emails i send them...what can i do to fix this?! Any ideas???
I tested it by sending an email from my POP3 account my Yahoo account and it worked, then did the opposite and sent an email from Yahoo to my other email address (POP3) and everything worked but as soon as i email someone else or they email me it wont work...

what are you trying to connect to?
SMTP is just a protocol, you need to indicate the server your connecting to, for example mail.yahoo.com if you have yahoo mail premium.

The advantage to using web-based email is that you can access it from any computer that has internet access. If you use Outlook or Outlook Express, all the emails you receive, or save will take up space on your hard drive. Not so with webmail. Think about it. If you still choose to go the other route, that's up to you but I don't know how to do it. Sorry.

Problem with Pop3 email and Outlook?
A friend of mine used Outlook 2003 on her XP laptop. I don't know what mail address she used, but I know she configured it using 2003. When she bought a new Vista laptop I copied the Outlook folder from Docs %26amp; Settings/[User Name]/Application Data/Microsoft and pasted it into Users/[User Name]/App Data/Microsoft to ensure that she saved her cached email addresses and so on.
She tells me that she has set up her mail box correctly, and her emails works but her folders and contacts and other stuff haven't reappeared. Any idea how to get them to reappear? I'm stumped!

So , I hooked up the router, and everything seems to be working alright, except I can't check my POP email. I turned the firewall off on the router,and I've checked the ports. I still can't figure it out. Should I call Belkin or Earthlink to resolve this problem???

Sounds more like a question for your ISP than for Belkin. There might be some kind of restriction on your ISP account that is preventing you from accessing your POP3 server.

I have an email account on an SMTP server using Exchange 2003 and Microsoft Management Console 3.0. I want to download all the e-mail from the account into a POP3 account. I have the mail address of the SMTP server and my username and password, but I can't get the e-mail to download. Any suggestions??

Yep, this may happen sometimes when they are having technical difficulties, especially if a server goes offline for repairs. They should be up and running again within minutes. Try refreshing the page if there are problems, but if that doesn't work, then all you can do is wait.

Just go into the Add/Remove programs, click on Add/Remove Windows components and place a check mark in Outlook Express. Then just follow the instructions of the pop3 account you wish to integrate. Easy. Both Hot-mail and Yahoo! are intigratable and I am sure others are as well.

Alot of internet providers force you to use their outgoing SMTP. Check to see if this applies to your situation.

I got a new computer and have long had Yahoo for email. I pressed an email link and -----a new floating window pops up and asks me
1.Incoming email server type-drop- with down menu
2.Incoming mail server (POP or IMAP)

Incoming port (pop3) 995,
Outgoing server smtp.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Outgoing port (smtp) 465.
Don鈥檛 forget to enable POP Forwarding in Options/Mail Options when you are logged into your account on the web under IE or Firefox.
Outlook will not be able to work with your account unless you do this
1.Incoming email server type-drop- with down menu
2.Incoming mail server (POP or IMAP)
3.Outgoing email server (SMTP) name.
I have no idea how to fill these questions out. No idea what even POP means. Help?

i was just wondering if you set up pop3 with yahoo mail. Does the mail that you send and recieve go through yahoo mail servers get checked by them and then get sent to your computer to the client. Bascally, does yahoo mail servers serve as a median between emails being sent and recieved in the yahoo account and check them for viruses etc.

My ISP has recently introduced authentication for outgoing mail. It only accepts mail thet uses its e-mail address as the originator. I configured Outlook express to download my email from my yahoo account via pop3. I can download fine but when I reply I get the following error message.
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address.

Why cannot I not view email within Yahoo Mail webpage and only POP3 Account?
I just recently upgraded my Yahoo mail account to POP3 so I can use an email client on my Blackberry and computer to send and receive my email. However, I am now receiving the emails on my computer (where I originally inputted the incoming and outgoing server info) but not on my blackberry or my online account. Within Yahoo Mail website, my inbox has gone completely empty. Can anyone help?

If you have a program such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Thunderbird accessing the Yahoo Account then that is where it is downloaded. Since you say you are receiving it on your computer that indicates you are starting the email program. It therefore receives the mail and deletes it from the server.

Thousands are having all kinds of problems with their mail since the new format, with Server Farm issues with Original Mail AND Beta Mail, several months ago!
Yahoo! and Sun Java are also having conflicts. Rather than trying to work around them, here is the easy and fastest way to cure them (for most). Go to Tools, open Internet Options, and select Advance tab. Scroll down the list and see if you have Microsoft Virtual Machine listed, if so, uncheck the 2 java鈥檚 listed. Make sure JIT is checked, click apply then ok. and then Close. This lets MSN virtual machine launch Yahoo! mail.
If not:
You will have less problems with Mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger. Then click on the little envelope icon on top of messenger box. Or go to My Yahoo and click on your mail link. Or click on the Big RED Y! on the Yahoo! Toolbar. Bottom line is any link that already has you signed in!!!
I recommend that you use Original Mail until beta works out the bugs. FYI, beta means TESTING. Go back to IE6 which works just fine and is problem free. It is still installed on your pc. If you are using Yahoo Mail Plus, and your server farm has problems, switch to the free service until things are worked out.
NOTE: Use beta software at your own risk; it is intended for testing and evaluation purposes only. Do not install beta software on your primary computer or production environment.

POP3 email can be painful to troubleshoot. By "bouncing back" to you mean it isn't letting you log in, or are you logging in and it's it sending back emails that you send?
Edit: I would say your problem then is either your login information or a firewall/isp issue. If your email service isn't provided by your ISP, they might be blocking POP3. It could also be a port forwarding issue with your software or router firewall (looks like the guy below me knows which ports to foward).

I am also having this issue with my Pop3 accounts. Everything busted week before last. I have been round and round with my host and they have tested my account inside and out. Everything on the server end for the email originating is A OK. I can get to it fine directly in webmail on that server, however I get the busy error every time I try to download from it. And I know it is not busy. Yahoo did do some sort of upgrade or change in their system recently so I think that has something to do with it...not that anyone can figure it out, admit to it or make any progress to resolve the issue thus far... It is very frustrating as I do my business through this one portal. I cannot afford to check multiple accounts at various web locations all day long it is way too time consuming. The only response I have had from Yahoo is to point the finger away from themselves at best. Nothing promising I'm afraid.

It used to be POP3 when you could check it through Outlook. Now you have to pay for the premium yahoo mail to be able to use Outlook but the instructions still say POP.

Enabling pop3 email on Moto MPx220?
My phone is old, and its crappy, but I cant figure out how to enable my pop3 email on this sucker. It asks me for my name, and @ where, and sometimes has the checkbox checked that says "automatically retrieve email settings from the internet"
I read somewhere that for another phone type, you have to hit up the manuf. website in order to enable it by Serial number, for the phone. So I check out moto and cant find anywhere under support or services where I can do that.
