There is a website asking is my incoming email pop3 or IMAP. It also asks on outgoing mail server SMTP?

other answer totally wrong, smtp is ALWAYS the outgoing server (the names may be different however) for yahoo the incoming is a pop3 server and it actually downloads from the server (if u don't check leave copy on server it's no longer there) whereas with imap it's just a mirror of the sever the names vary depending on the service some examples would be pop.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com or imap.aol.com and smtp.aol.com so it depends on ure email service yahoo is the only 1 I know that's a pop3 all the rest I've used are imaps
Reply:pop3 and IMAP are ways your mail client or app connect to your mail server to download your mail. IMAP being more dynamic. SMTP will depend on what mail service you use.
