If you want to use POP3 on your Yahoo account then you will need to download a free software called YPOPS to do this because Yahoo does not support POP3.

POP3 gives you the ability to read your email with a different program/client such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. Your email provider must support POP3 for you to be able to use these programs.
Many do, but check with them first for their POP3 and SMTP addresses!
